I was in Japan a number of years ago, and this is the best review of the must-go places that I have seen. I wish I had it when I spent two months there! I went to all these places but really needed to know what was in this book.

Comprehensive and useful guide, full of bright definitions and humorous comments. Reading the guide I am willing to follow the author's tracks exactly step by step. And the main point is, that I don't need much money to do that =)
