Here's an excerpt from an email I received from a lady who bought my book: "I purchased your e-book DIY Beijing. After reading it, I'm thinking about changing my itinerary, so I can spend more time in Beijing."
As one of her visitors when she lived in Beijing, I was treated to some of the great inside experiences she talks about in her guides. Anyone who follows her suggestions and advice will get a close up view most tourists will miss.
When I worked as an Alaska travel consultant I also emphasized an up close, non-touristy approach to travel, and Cheryl's guides are spot-on. And they are fun to read--her personality really shines through.

I read DIY Beijing cover-to-cover, highlighting as I read. I appreciate the pictures. The guide flows well and is easy to understand. . Now I have a better understanding of the hutongs. I am especially thankful for the explanation of how to eat Peking Duck! I read the section on "chops" with interest, and have decided I must get one; thanks for the web site. The guide references several helpful websites. I can't wait to put the information into actual use. I will try the stir-fry recipe soon.
