The Frankfurt Book Fair is the largest book fair in the world. Held annually on October, the fair hosts more than 7,300 exhibitors from over 100 countries and is the most important marketplace worldwide for books, media, rights and licences.
Having your own title showcased on the fair is a tremendous opportunity. The Frankfurt Book Fair is a meeting place for the industry’s experts. All renowned publishers are present, together with booksellers, agents and authors. Publishers and agents are on the lookout for new titles, new writers and international licensing opportunities. Authors wander the hallways to meet and greet old friends as well as to discover new publishers and to pitch their titles and ideas.
During the first three days, access to the fair is restricted to exhibitors, trade visitors and the press. And to our first prize winner, of course. This is the perfect time to meet with publishers, agents and licensors from all over the world: Pitch your story ideas and discuss writing contracts - perhaps even sign them on the spot! It's also a good opportunity to talk to some of the over 10,000 accredited journalists.
For the final two days, the fair is open to the general public. More than 299,000 readers and potential customers flock the halls. Imagine how many readers will find out about your title and you as a writer!
