Lan Sluder has been banging around Belize for almost 20 years. He is the founder and editor of Belize First Magazine, now an online magazine, www.BelizeFirst.com, and is the author of several books on Belize, including Fodor’s Belize (2010), Living Abroad in Belize (2005), Belize First Guide to Mainland Belize (2001), Adapter Kit: Belize (2001), Easy Belize, an eBook (2010), San Pedro Cool (2002, revised and released as an eBook, 2007) and Belize Islands Guide (2010). A former newspaper editor in New Orleans, Sluder also has done a Frommer’s guidebook to the Carolinas and Georgia, a Fodor’s guide to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, co-authored several other books and has contributed articles to many magazines and newspapers including Caribbean Travel & Life, New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, St. Petersburg Times, Bangkok Post, Tico Times, Globe & Mail and Where to Retire.
