London is one of the world's top tourism destinations, it is home to historic landmarks and a famous and history rich culture.
London is also the smallest city in the United Kingdom and is a small area within Greater London, England. Often referred to as the City or the Square Mile, as it is just over one square mile (1.12 sq mi/2.90 km2) in area.
The term London now refers to a much larger area which includes 32 London boroughs as well as the City of London. The current population of London is roughly 7 796 848. London attracts 20 million international visitors per year.
The weather is sometimes unpredictable but not so that it cannot be enjoyed. With masses of shows, sport events, leisure activities, parks, formal ceremonies and attractions, there is always something to do, indoors and outdoors.
The Public Transport system includes Buses, the Underground (the Tube train system) and Overland Trains. It is effective, affordable and easily accessible.
Accommodation varies from Luxury Hotels to Tourist Hotels to B&B’s to Self-Contained Apartments to Hostels, all available depending on individual budgets, tastes and needs. Much of this accommodation is located within walking distance of the major tourist attractions.
