Luang Prabang, also Luang Phabang, Luang Phrabang and Louang Phrabang is the former capital of Laos and a UNESCO World Heritage city.
Sitting in the junction of Nam Khan River and Mekong River with a mountainous backdrop, it is one of the most beautiful places in Laos - even in Southeast Asia. It is a charming little city with most of its shops, restaurants and bars situated in its 3 main streets: Khem Khong, Xatikhoumman Road and Kingkitsarath Road.
There are many temples and attractions to enjoy. You can probably walk around town in a day, but the main draw of the place is really in chilling out in one of the cafes or bars reading a book, and appreciating the beautiful surrounding.
The locals there are generally friendly, as with other parts of Laos, but do expect 'Laos timing' when you are there. The pace in Luang Prabang is slow and relaxing.
A definite highlight that you should not miss is the early morning ritual of the Alms ceremony. So get up early!
Describe the main aspects of Luang Prabang in general. Write in the 2nd person ('go there/when we went' instead of 'I went/this writer went/one can go'). Tell it as it is, but stick to the facts. Restaurant,
