Desaru is a place located in Johore Bahru, Malaysia.
Located away from the busy city area and marketplace, Desaru offers a long beachlength and multiple chalets and resorts for people who would like a retreat from the hustle of city life. A quick getaway for families and couples or even groups of friends who would like a quiet retreat by the beach.
The peak season fro Desaru will ususlly be during the monsoon season (Mid October to late February). Surfers from all over, mainly Singaporeans and local Malaysians, will go there to take advantage of the rare 0.8m to sometimes even 2m waves.
Getting There
For Singaporeans, going there will take about 45 minutes to an hour as the new Desaru highway is complete. Foreigners will have to take a cab or even drive up from Johor Bahru ro Desaru. There are no airports near to Desaru. Closest will be Senai Airport, Johor Bahru.
Accomodations
There are a few chalets and resorts in Desaru that you could go to:
Desaru Holiday Chalets
The Pulai Desaru Hotels
Lotus Desaru
Desaru Golden Beach Resort
These resorts offer good accomodations but you would have to go there and pick the one's which are of your comfortability as some hotes/resorts looks a bit rundown as they are sated back to the early 1960.
