Naha City and Chatan are the most popular areas for shopping both for visitors and locals. There are markets such as the Hamby Night Market and Makishi Public Market.
For souvenirs the many shops along Kokusai Dori offer the biggest variety in the smallest area. There are also specialist areas to buy souvenirs such as in the Yachimun no Sato or Ryukyu Glass Village.
In the more remote areas of the north and south small general stores such as Minato Store and Oku Kyodo Ten are interesting to walk around.
