Public views vs Apps Sold

I'm confused...the texts that I've entered are accessible to anyone, so how does it end up in an app and get sold? I stopped entering my guide until I fully understand what's public and what is sold as an app...

Hi Ziggy, that won't be possible because it works in completely different environments. You have to make a choice here.

Hey Daniel, ok I understand what you're saying about using your own guide as a marketing tool, but it also seems a little cannibalistic to do so. I know that I tend to research a destination before I even go on the trip, so the app would be a moot point for me while I'm on my trip. What I think would be best is to not upload your guide completely but just some general sections into the web version and then continue with the eBook version and the app version. That way you're not giving too much away...

Hi, let me clarify:

YOU DECIDE if you want the content available on the web or not. You can choose not to publish the content on the web, in which case it will not be visible, and we will only use it to create the app (this is web publishing option "C").

However, I recommend to publish the content on the web. Firstly, this is the best (and free) marketing you can get for your app. Secondly, income from advertizing can be substantial (after some time).

The links I gave in my first post below have more info on the different web publishing options and how you can earn from it.

Hope that helps, and thanks for asking!

Let me know if something is still unclear.

Best,
Daniel

Thanks for asking this question Ziggy. I too am confused. So are you saying that is as it should be. Whatever we input towards our guide is visible to all.

I checked out one guide on Galicia which is available as an ebook, but nothing is on the web, why is that?

Thanks

Rachel

The app format will attract different readers, or the same readers who like the different, more mobile format - it's free online but chargeable as an app. Obviously it's easier to have an app available on your iPhone without having to download or be online to get access. Meanwhile the web version carries advertising which can generate revenue.
