Beach Shack Chalet

The Beach Shack Chalet is away from the centre of Juara and gets a pristine section of the beach.

This place is huge on surfing and it's not a surprise that both owners are winners of several surfing competitions, including the one held on Pulau Tioman itself. You can see the trophies just by the entrance. Surfing lessons are available at 20RM/hr and you can simply arrange it with the staff.

Here is another great budget option for travellers. It's 50RM for a sunrise view chalet and 40RM+40RM for a family room consisting of two connected rooms. There are also dorms priced at 15RM per person. All rooms come with a fan and cold showers.

Reservtions are necessary for the Beach Shack as they are often too full for walk-ins.

They've got boats to take you out fishing or snorkeling or even on a jungle trek if you're not a water baby.

Note:

The Beach Shack is within proximity of Juara's turtle sanctuary. In the evenings, they leave their front lights on and that affects conservation efforts. Baby turtles are attracted to light, when they hatch and climb out from the nest, they start heading inland instead of towards the sea.

If you are concerned with the conservation of endangered sea turtles, a request for the lights to be turned off in the evening would be helpful. If enough guests do it, it just might stay that way.

Directions

It's quite a walk from the jetty but just enjoy the sights as you head all the way left from the jetty (right if you trekked or took a 4WD). The Beach Shack Chalet signboard will greet you on the left.
