The City of Rab, situated on the island of the same name, is slowly restoring its reputation from the 1980s as the top gay destination in the Balkans. For the first time, as the only official gay-friendly destination in Croatia, Rab offers exclusively gay summer activities, such as sailing trips, private love boat tours for smaller groups, a gay beach, after beach parties, night life, gay-friendly hotels and private accommodation.
From now on, Rab is becoming the most popular summer gay-friendly destination in Croatia and the Balkan area. Apart from this, the island offers what is most important: tolerance of the locals. And this is just the beginning – as early as next year, Rab could be welcoming thousands of LGBT tourists from Europe and the world.
Rab was also recently voted world's top naturist destination by the CNN. In 1936, King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson got the official permit for nude swimming in the Kandarola bay, today the main gay beach, launching the first official naturist beach in Europe.

Kandarlo (FKK) beach is a definitely Gay+ location. Easy to find. As far as Rab Town bars Sandra and Celestina, we didn't see any gays there (July 2012) during our visit.
