Loof is the place to be this New Year’s Eve. It’s fireworks galore without the deafening music or the sweaty, maddening crowd.

This rooftop bar boasts to give you a good (though not spectacularly close) view of the cliched NYE fireworks. Funk and soul grooves accompany the last night of 2010 with DJ Andrew M from Australia.

For those of you who wish to reserve a table, a minimum spending amount applies. For every 4 persons, purchase 2 bottles of wine/1 bottle of champagne/1 bottle of hard liquor.

Loof’s December promotions still apply, with Moet & Chandon going for $110++ per bottle and Belvedere Vodka at $160++ per bottle with Redbull.

Red Bull raves a Syndicate Party at Home Club

The above trailer gives you a peek of what’s to come this Saturday night at Home Club, Singapore’s answer to the fabulous underground.

Syndicate, touted as the most forward thinking music & visual super-collective in Singapore, celebrates with Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) for a night of electronic mayhem with its London 2010 alumni, Kidkanevil and Daisuke Tanabe.

The party starts at 10pm.Those who have signed up for the RBMA workshop session earlier in the evening will get a free entry. Kidkanevil, Daisuke Tanabe and Syndicate’s Cherry Chan will be speaking at the workshop.

RBMA is a platform for producers, DJs and musicians to share their genius over workshops, lectures, tutorials and gig activities. Household names such as Dixon, Gilles Peterson and M.I.A have made their appearance at the academy.

The Kosmik Messenger at Stereolab

Stereolab will host Stacey Pullen, one of the most internationally sought-after DJs tomorrow night in light of the Asian Electronic Music Festival.

Synonymous with house and techno-garage, this Kosmik Messenger is an innovator from the Second Wave of Detroit techno. Growing under the mentorship of Detroit’s legendary DJs Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, it is almost endearing to note that his first venture into music was at the age of 9, playing the flute in his school band.

The party starts from 10.30pm till late. A cover of S$28 is inclusive of one drink.

Avoid the weekend in height at New Asia Bar

It’s time to whip out your flashiest camera and clothes to get a load of the fabulous view of Singapore’s downtown.

The After Work Party series is here in Singapore at New Asia Bar. Having held parties in New York, London, Hamburg and Zurich, this night is your chance to let loose early.

Tuesday telly nights are a thing of the past. With Sundowner drink deals (about S$5 cheaper) and a wide array of bar snacks and food, the After Work Party is your go-to place if you feel like doing something on a random Tuesday.

The music is a mesh of disco, funk, black, 70′s, 80′s, 90′s and house. Though the mix might be slightly offbeat and questionable at times, it’s still amusing to people-watch as some try to break out of their stiff upper lip stereotypes by shimmying down and shaking up.
