Like most other parks in Singapore, Pasir Ris Park is a popular spot among locals on weekends.  Here you can find a range of sporting activities like pony rides, water sports, cycling and inline skating.

An interesting feature of this park is a preserved mangrove forest where visitors can observe up close the flora and fauna of a mangrove forest. The Bird Watching Tower located within the mangrove forest allows visitors to observe birds from a height of three storeys. A popular feature of the park is the children's playground which is a hit with children with its giant space-nets, cableways and innovative play stations.

Similar to East Coast Park, the barbeque pits are also popular with teenagers and youths and it is a common sight to see almost all of them occupied on weekends. However, as compared to East Coast Park, there are less toilet facilities located along the way. This park is more popular with cyclists and youths having a barbeque than joggers.

A section of the park is also designated as a camping site and is a popular spot for campers on weekends and public holidays. On a side note, Pasir Ris means 'beach bolt-rope' in Malay and indicates a narrow beach, which is essentially what Pasir Ris Park has. Due to the general lack of a real beach, suntanning is almost non-existent.
