If you wake up and find yourself sitting down in a breezy location in the middle of Singapore enjoying live rock music, do not be alarmed. Your legs probably shrugged you off to Cuscaden, a small but cosy bar in the Chijmes nightlife complex. Cuscaden has that effect. Situated strategically as one of the first few bars along the main entrance, it’s shiny bar counter, centre stage live band music and warm staff greetings gives it an excellent first impression.
Cuscaden offers relatively low prices, especially when compared with other, often overpriced bars in Chijmes. Cuscaden has numerous posters with price indications marked across the walls. During happy hours, beers and house spirits are only 5 dollars a mug/glass. Every Sundays, happy hour stretches till 2am.
Cuscaden also provides live musical entertainment daily. Starting with ‘oldies’ Monday, the theme for the week varies from classic rock to soft rock and to pop music. They have opened up their bar to upcoming young band troops within Singapore and Malaysia. The bands play tunes by Jimmie Hendrix and even ACDC. They do take requests and usually do not disappoint. They even invite customers to jam with the bands on stage.

Take the MRT and get off at City Hall and follow the signs to Chijmes or take buses (there are numerous to Raffles City Shopping Centre). It is just across.
