It might be a toughie to locate but once found, it proves to be a blanket for the senses. A retreat away from bright, shiny things, it strives to come as close to nature as possible. So close that the bistro is only accessible by a shuttle bus (which runs every one and a half hour) or car.
Simple in presentation but heavy on personality, you will find signs like, "if you need to raise your blood pressure with more salt just ask our staff for poison". Not surprising due to the fact that the owner is quick-witted Singaporean personality Ivy Singh Lim.
The entrance is distracted by wind chimes, hanging cocoa plants and aromatherapy and herbal gardens. Inside, the flooring is unfinished and its large windows are framed by colourful curtains reminiscent of Morocco. Its indoor area serves as gallery of idiosyncrasies- with guitars, newspaper clippings and souvenir items displayed on the walls. The alfresco area overlooks the garden, which requires an entrance fee of $2.
Situated next to a farm, expect a guilt-free selection of fresh vegetables, spring rolls, and their famous banana bread. Not just for calorie-watchers, it also serves comfort food like french fries, fish and chips, and Warrior's chicken curry. The service, though aloof, tugs the heart with the sheer competence of a physically disabled waitress. Do note that they only accept payment via cash.
