Add a Point to the Map

The Wei Tuo Fa Gong Temple is an 80-year-old Buddhist temple located at the western end of Pulau Ubin. It sits on a small hill which overlooks a pond that is supposed to be filled with carp and turtle but not many have been spotted.

A large statue of Buddha meditating on top of a lotus blossom at the entrance is a precursor to the other similar statues located throughout the temple albeit on a smaller scale. The temple's quiet and peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal place for meditation and worship.

Worshippers and the resident monks help to maintain the temple and its surrounding gardens as well as care for and feed the couple of stray dogs that can be found throughout the temple grounds.

Directions

From Tanah Merah MRT, take bus no. '2' and alight at Changi Point Bus Interchange. Proceed to Changi Point Ferry Terminal and take the ferry to Pulau Ubin.

Type of place: Monument/Building
Location: Pulau Ubin, Singapore
Street address: Western part of Pulau Ubin
