The three quays which line the Singapore River have come a long way since its humble beginnings. What used to be a buzzing area for fishing and trade has transformed over the years to become the go-to place for both Singaporeans and tourists alike. However, do note they are not a place for budget travelers.
A playground for both the young and old, the three quays offer distinct experiences at different times of the day. However, these days, they are mainly known as nightlife hot spots.
Boat Quay is a tourist spot at daytime, and a place for after-work drinks in the evening.
Clarke Quay is Singapore's hottest nightlife area with fancy bars, clubs and restaurants.
Robertson Quay also has bars and restaurants, but is a bit off and much more relaxed.
A long night out might start with a few happy hour drinks in Boat Quay, then heading upriver to dance the night away in Clarke Quay, and finally chill out with a last beer or Martini in Robertson Quay. Also consider our River Area Walking Tour, perfect for a late afternoon.
Describe the main aspects of River Area in general. Write in the 2nd person ('go there/when we went' instead of 'I went/this writer went/one can go'). Tell it as it is, but stick to the facts. Restaurant,
