Alexandra Hospital is a small private hospital with a 400-bed capacity housed in colonial style buildings, surrounded by a quiet and serene garden setting.

Established in 1938 as the British Military Hospital, it was faced with a surprise attack by the Japanese on 14 February 1942 and became a site of World War 2 massacre.

Management of the hospital was handed over to the Singapore government in 1971 where it reopened as a civilian hospital adopting the name Alexandra Hospital. In 2000, the hospital was restructured and equipments upgraded in an effort to serve its patients better and build a hassle-free environment.

From 2008, Alexandra Hospital comes under Alexandra Health, which is managed by a board of directors who are mainly non-healthcare professionals.
