Add a Point to the Map

Conceived as a place where traditional arts and crafts could be studied, preserved and transmitted to future generations, the National Center for Traditional Arts (國立傳統藝術中心) is rightfully one of the northeast's most-visited attractions. You should plan on spending half a day in this well-designed, 24-hectare campus, and expect to do quite a bit of walking.

Major attractions include live Chinese and Taiwanese opera, acrobatics and puppetry performances, plus an ever-changing roster of artisans who demonstrate skills such as calligraphy, gold and silver work, weaving, woodcarving, and the shaping of figurines from dough. Many of these craftsmen sell their works.
