The Merino Restaurant does not look like much on the outside. Inside the dimly lit restaurant is large with a variety of tables and booths for customers. Along one wall is a fully stocked bar and there is a back room containing pool tables. These make The Merino a popular night spot for locals.
The menu is fairly large although the speciality is Merino lamb. The lamb shank is especially tender and tasty. Portions are huge. Two options are offered for the lamb shank, women’s and men’s. The women’s plate consists of one very large shank and the men’s two. A small chips consists of a dinner plate piled high. Another Merino lamb item on the menu is offal. Not for everybody, this dish is also tender and generous. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the size of the portions.
