Add a Point to the Map

Yachimun no Sato, also known as the Potter's Village consists of a group of over 40 potters who all moved to Yomitan from the Tsuboya area in the 70's and 80's.  There are 3 large traditional kilns and numerous individual ones.

Visitors should park at the entrance to the village and take a walk around the area, visiting the various kilns.

Many of the individual potters have shops or galleries attached to their studios where visitors can buy some of their work.  Prices range from ¥500 to tens of thousands of yen for a single piece.

It is definitely recommended that visitors stop for a snack or tea or coffee.  The great thing about stopping for coffee in Yachimun no Sato is that your order is served in beautiful, locally produced potter.

At the entrance to the pottery village is a Glass Studio where you can watch glass being blown.  They also have a shop behind the studio where you can purchase glassware.
